Website Design and SEO for LASIK Surgeons and Ophthalmologists
By Adam Rowan, Content Specialist
Modern websites are an interactive experience designed to fit multiple sizes of screens. Kirk Eye Center implemented both dynamic visuals and mobile-friendliness to create a new online experience for ophthalmology patients.
Let's see how intuitive functionality and an engaging aesthetic make the website for this eye care practice pop.
Kirk Eye Center
Now in its third generation of ophthalmologists, the Kirk family of eye doctors has a long history of caring for patients in the Greater Chicago area, including River Forest, Gurnee and Oak Park. The Kirks and associate doctors prominently appear in a slider section on the home page, giving visitors an opportunity to get to know the family before scheduling an appointment. Drs. Kent Kirk, Scott Kirk and Tyler Kirk answer questions about LASIK, blade-free cataract surgery and other advanced procedures in a series of original videos.
Patients also feature in these video galleries to share how vision correction and eye surgery at Kirk Eye Center has changed their lives. In many cases, the videos include footage of patients doing the activities they love, illustrating how healthy eyes and keen sight act as gateways to a better life.
Video galleries, procedure content and patient information are all...Read Full Post

Board-certified ophthalmologist Stephen Wilmarth, M.D., has dedicated his career to excellence in eye care. The home page banner for his redesigned website makes the same pledge, with the updated aesthetic positioned to draw the attention of new and current patients.
With the new design, the website for Wilmarth Eye and Laser Center looks good. Now users seeking eye care in Northern California can see how Dr. Wilmarth helps patients look well.
Wilmarth Eye and Laser Center
The eyes act as windows to other areas of the website, with ocular-themed next-step graphics pointing visitors to information about LASIK and other vision services. Pages on the site are designed for maximum readability, with subheadings and bullet point lists making it easy for users to scan for details while still absorbing the major takeaways.
Internet users today look for eye doctors differently. Dr. Wilmarth accounts for the different prospective patients accessing his website with a mobile-first design that accommodates users on smartphones and tablet devices.
Intuitive menus help visitors move through a website. The new design highlights the key practice areas at Wilmarth Eye and Laser Center in understandable terms so potential patients can get the...Read Full Post

Clear vision serves more than a functional purpose – it makes it possible to live life to the fullest. Griffin & Reed Eye Care understands this, which is why the recent redesign of the practice website is "clearly different" from that of other ophthalmology offices.
Here's a look at the elements that set the new design of the Griffin & Reed Eye Care website apart:
Griffin & Reed Eye Care
For many patients, the image on the website home page is all too familiar: a pair of eyeglasses that affords clear sight, with the surrounding environs blurry and indistinct. The banner provides an immediate solution to this common problem with a call-to-action and a button that directs users to information about the practice, including premium downloadable content.
The website invites users to "See Why We Are Clearly Different," and multiple facets of the design bolster that claim. High-quality next-step graphics throughout the site spotlight the precision, technology, and patient education that sets Griffin & Reed Eye Care apart, while other sections give visitors an opportunity to read about the doctors' backgrounds, learn about the laser vision correction facility, and view custom videos about a variety of eye care procedures and surgeries.
The video gallery on the website is divided into categories to accommodate the needs of...Read Full Post
Seeta Eye Centers has been working with Page 1 Solutions since February 2015 and it has been a great pleasure to work with Dr. Satish Modi, Danielle Foster, Stacey Koch and the rest of the team at Seeta Eye Care. They are always open to and full of ideas on how to better build the practices exposure. We have continued to see their exposure grow and am excited to continue working with the Seeta team moving forward.
"I can't say enough about how awesome the entire team is and how they approach the great service that they offer to each of their patients. Being recognized as our Client Of The Month is a recognition that they absolutely deserve!"
~ John Gaumnitz, Internet Marketing Consultant
The outside of any medical practice should create a welcoming atmosphere while communicating the safety and quality of care patients can expect from the doctors. The websites for two of our ophthalmology clients – one a longstanding client of Page 1 Solutions, one a newcomer – chose the exterior of their offices as a focal point for their new designs.
Here's an inside look at the aesthetics of these sites:
Northeastern Eye Institute
The main Northeastern Eye Institute (NEI) office in Scranton, Pennsylvania, graces the home page banner of the practice's redesigned website. Many other features on the home page and interior of the site also include custom photography of the reception area, optical store, exam rooms, and the doctors at NEI.
The practice's leading eye doctors and eye surgeons appear in a special section where visitors can view their profiles and click to read more. Images of these eye care professionals also appear in a rotating carousel that doubles as a showcase for the natural beauty of the...Read Full Post

He has taken advantage of new opportunities through many of Page 1's...Read Full Post
Many ophthalmologists recognize the need to cater to the perceptions of online patients and prospects and have re-designing their website within the past two or three years. In most cases, this was also driven by the need to address the growing number of mobile website visitors, particularly smartphone users.
Recognizing and adapting to changes in online consumers is essential to ensure your marketing dollars continues to go farther and with greater impact. Although many practices have addressed online consumers’ perceptions and use of websites by developing new mobile-responsive websites, they continue to market and promote the website in the same way they have always done in the past.
Most practices continue to focus almost exclusively on SEO and PPC (Google Adwords) to generate new Internet leads and target the same keyword phrases they have for years, never adjusting their campaign. Unfortunately, the manner in which consumers now research eye care services has changed and your online marketing needs to adjust accordingly.
For instance, most practices have not researched of revisited how consumers research and search for their services. What are the most important keyword phrases? What is the search volume for each? Is the volume of searches increasing, or decreasing? I would like to share some insights and what you can...Read Full Post
