Every year The Action Center in Colorado's Jefferson County strives to keep needy families from going hungry at Thanksgiving. Page 1 Solutions is proud to be a longtime contributor to The Action Center, and this year our team pulled together once again to make a difference for families in crisis.
We are very pleased to announce that Page 1 Solutions donated 1,339 pounds of food to the 2016 Thanksgiving food drive!
From holiday staples like mashed potatoes and canned goods to more exotic fare like pasta starter kits, our team members contributed a feast of diverse flavors to ensure families in need can enjoy a satisfying Thanksgiving dinner. Our donations will enable The Action Center to fill more than 200 boxes this holiday season!
Each Thanksgiving Food Box distributed by The Action Center contains nonperishable dinner items. Participating families also receive a voucher they can redeem for one turkey or ham at an area grocery store.
For nearly 50 years, The Action Center has been serving families and individuals in Jefferson County with dedication, compassion, and caring. The organization's mission is to anticipate and "provide an immediate response to basic human needs" as well as services that "promote pathways to self-sufficiency." Food and other in-kind donations make it possible for The Action Center to serve thousands of families at multiple budget-strapping periods throughout the year – including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and back-to-school – as well as provide basic needs services and self-sufficiency resources year-round.
The Thanksgiving food drive is just the beginning of holiday opportunities to donate to and volunteer with The Action Center. Volunteers will distribute food boxes with Thanksgiving contributions on Sunday, Nov. 20. By donating toys and games, you can help fill the shelves at the center's annual Santa Shop. Open Dec. 12 through Dec. 17, this festive event provides needy families with kids 12 and under the chance to pick out presents.
All of us at Page 1 Solutions look forward to continuing our support of this wonderful local nonprofit!
