SEO: Entity Authority Increasingly Important for SEO in 2020

As Google puts more weight on credibility, trustworthiness and expertise, authority signals will have a growing impact on your organic listings. A large part of helping Google recognize your providers’ credentials and authority are links to and from relevant and authoritative websites. I thought I would share a great article from Search Engine Journal that can start triggering some ideas for you to increase the quality and credibility of your website and content.

Some quick suggestions:

  • Leverage authorship and credits for new content (blogs) to your provider(s)
  • Optimize your trust seals and logos with relevant alt text
  • Links to your association and affiliations need to go to your profile, not just the home page
  • Submit original articles with "about the author" links to your bio page
  • Invest resources to develop more substantive, useful and planned content
  • Reference other high-authority sources
  • Don't overlook investing in credible professional sources (BBB, Chamber of Commerce, credible industry websites, etc.)

We hope you will continue to follow our information and wish you a Happy Holiday Season and success in 2020!
