Google+ Update: Multiple Admins and More!

If there has been one single complaint marketing departments have had since the launch of Google+ business pages last month, it's been that they were not able to add multiple admins to the page. Seeing that social media is just that, social, it was silly to think that one person, alone, could manage the company's page(s), especially since Google encourages businesses to set up pages for each brand that the company may have. However, Google remedied that yesterday with the launch of the multiple administrator (or manager in G+ lingo) option and a couple other much needed tools.
Once you set up your business page, adding a second, third, or even fiftieth (yes, 50) manager is simple:
- Go to your G+ business page
- Click on the "gear" icon in the Google bar (upper right corner of the page)
- Choose "Google+ Settings"
- You will see a "Managers" button on the left side, underneath "General"
- Add the email addresses of those people who you'd like to be managers on the page
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
In addition to the multiple manager support feature, they also added the ability for business pages to receive notifications, as well as the consolidation of +1 and follower counts on the page.
Here's David, a Google+ engineer, to explain these changes. I think all three of the changes were vital to the success of G+ business pages and I'm really excited they finally rolled them out!
