Page 1 At Play!

At Page 1 Solutions we work hard. We take pride in achieving the best web designs, the clearest writing, the most effective SEO results, and the smoothest client communication. We have a growing collection of awards to prove it. But we also like to play. We are people who value having a fun job and working in a fun environment.

During our Work Days

Experts agree that working all day on a computer is stressful in at least two ways:

• Stagnate sitting, especially in a poor posture, can be detrimental to your heath over time and may lower creative thinking skills
• Eyestrain resulting from excessive computer use can cause sore, tired, and dry eyes.

So each day at about 3 pm, we hear Bill Fukui’s voice over the intercom:

“Page 1 employees, it’s time for your mandatory screen break. Please come to the Think Tank for today’s delicious snack”.

Bill has made meatballs or cookies or rolled up tortillas with cream cheese. Bill is a great cook!

Since the weather has been getting milder here in Denver, Colorado, we go outdoors to munch, where we have a basketball court. Teams of two compete. Someone keeps score. People call out, “Go for it, Dan”, and “Pass that ball, Natalia!” and “Hey, isn’t that illegal??” Our quiet co-workers are transformed into wild sports players and fans.

Our employees are also welcome to do what they wish during their lunch break, including playing chess, playing on our Wii gaming system or taking an in-office yoga class.

Celebrations

Every year we have an Open House. A recent one was a Carnival, where work cubicles were converted for crystal ball readings and Shoot the Rubber Duckie stalls. People were almost unrecognizable in their carnival costumes, acting their carnival personalities.

• Another one was a poker night with great door prizes and play money.
• A third was a Putt Putt Golf Course, laid out through all the corridors, in amongst the cubicles and offices, with little lakes, trees, bridges, and green lawns.
• For 2008 we are planning a Luau.

Every month we have a Birthday Lunch for all those who grew another year older that month. Page 1 provides the main course (e.g. burgers, brats, dogs) and volunteers bring in home-made salads and desserts. In nice weather we use the BBQ grill out the back.

Many holidays are also celebrated here at Page 1 Solutions. From in Christmas parties in the beautiful snowy mountains, to Secret-Spooking around Halloween time; we do our best to make this a fun place to work.

Page 1 Solutions’ Outings

About twice a year, Page 1 pays for a company outing. We recently went horseback riding, which is a great pleasure in the Rockies. Twice we have gone out to play Paintball, a new experience for some of us, and a lot of fun! Another time it was bowling. There have been some hikes up into the mountains and softball games.
