Google's Algorithm

Wired recently published a very interesting article on the ongoing efforts to perfect Google's algorithm. (Thank you, Becky, for pointing it out to Page 1's SEO Dept.)

Here is the article.

There is a lot that is interesting, but I noted two things that I think relate to Page 1. First, at Google, they are constantly refining and improving the algorithm to stay ahead of the competition. Second, they hire the "right people". It all leads back to Jim Collins' Good to Great. At Page 1, we are working to become a great company and Good to Great makes clear that in order to get there, you have to hire the right people and put them on the right seats on the bus. We believe we have many of the right people and we are continuing to try to find more.

Third Annual Casino Night and Silent Auction

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Third Annual Casino Night and Silent Auction last weekend! Page 1 employees, their family members, and even some of our local clients all came together for a night of food, fun, and most importantly, fundraising.

Guests helped raise over $1,000 for two very worthy local causes. The money that was raised was split between The Second Wind Foundation, a group committed to preventing teen suicide and The Jeffco Action Center, which responds to the basic needs of Jefferson County residents.

We are especially grateful for the local clients who came out to show their support. Dr. Nick Slenkovich, Dr. Scott Greeenhalgh, Marty Weiser, and Norty Frickey were all very generous with their time and money to benefit the nonprofits.

In addition to the money raised by the casino games and silent auction, Appreciation Events, who offered discounted gift items to party guests, donated 20% of their sales for the evening.

Again, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to join us! We had a wonderful time and are very touched by the generosity that was displayed the entire evening. We look forward to next years event and hope that even more people can join us!

Dan Goldstein Visits with Dr. David Bottger


My family and I traveled to Philadelphia over the Thanksgiving holiday. While I had a wonderful time visiting my family and meeting my three month old niece for the first time, I also had the opportunity to visit with one of Page 1's longest tenured clients - Philadelphia plastic surgeon David Bottger.

We have been working with Dr. Bottger since shortly after we opened in 2001. Since that time, Dr. Bottger has consistently been on the first page of the search results for a number of plastic and cosmetic surgery search terms with Philadelphia and Pennsylvania localizations.

Dr. Bottger was also one of the first plastic surgeons who followed our recommendation to develop targeted niche sites including a website focusing on abdominoplasty and liposuction and one focusing exclusively on breast augmentation. Those sites also do very well for their targeted terms.

After having practiced in Bryn Mawr for years, Dr. Bottger recently moved his cosmetic surgery office to a new location in Newtown Square - 3855 W. Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. This was the first time I had visited his new office and I was impressed. It is beautiful. I think it will be an excellent long term move for his practice.

Page 1 Donates Over 800 lbs of Food to Jeffco Action Center

This week the staff at Page 1 Solutions donated over 800 lbs, of non-perishable food items, including 65 large cans of powder baby formula, to the Jeffco Action Center. The event marked Page 1's 30th trip to the Action Center to donate food and clothing items to local families in need.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the food drive. We are very proud to give back to our community this holiday season!
