MSNBC - SEO: Essential To Survival

Check out this story about SEO. It talks about the fundamental need for businesses to engage in SEO. It also touches on the importance of social media. Here are some excerpts.

Search engines are now recognizing social media websites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as important content...If you Google 'ski travel Nevada,' the entire first page of results is us, with the exception of one," NCOT spokesperson Bethany Drysdale says. "If we didn't use social media, those results wouldn't be there; they'd be replaced by something else."

"If you don't view social network sites as something you have to put daily resources into for your business, you're failing...The internet is always changing. When Google hiccups, everything changes."

Guaranteed Internet Marketing Results? Is There Such A Thing?

At Page 1 Solutions, we offer a search engine positioning guarantee. This sets us apart from most Internet marketing companies. Especially in this economy, when you have to make every dollar count, it's important to know that your Internet marketing campaign will pay out. You have to ask for a guarantee, but you'll receive some push-back and most of the time the companies won't offer anything except a gentleman's agreement, which unfortunately, doesn't amount to much these days.

Most search engine optimization companies out there don't offer a guarantee. They simply can't. Their businesses are centered around a one-time optimization of a website, meaning some up front SEO work, but they don't do anything on an on-going basis to promote the website on the search engines. Hence, they have no control over whether or not their service will get results and can't afford to guarantee anything.

Some search engine marketing firms advertise that they guarantee 1st-page results on Google. This can be very misleading, because these firms are almost always referring to pay-per-click services, meaning that they are paying for advertisements on Google. As long as you pay Google, you're "guaranteed" to show up, but only in the Sponsored Listings section of the results. Other firms promise 1st-page listings, but are just making promises to make the sale. Unless they put it in writing, don't believe the hype.

At Page 1 Solutions, we offer a solid guarantee. It's performance before payment. Our strategy is long term, mutual success for us and our clients. You will see documented 1st-page listings before you get an SEO bill from us. We're willing to put that in writing.
