The Mobile Craze

Thu, 05/17/2012

We all know that smartphones aren’t a passing fad, so why then are you overlooking a key piece of your internet marketing strategy?  With mobile internet users soon exceeding desktop users, it’s incredibly important to have a “mobile-friendly” site that your visitors can reach you through.  Mobile-friendly does not just mean that a website shows up on a mobile device.  There are a few key elements that should create the basic backbone for your mobile website:

  1. Be Thumb Friendly!  Make sure visitors can navigate your website without clicking on the wrong thing.  We’ve all tried to use a website on a mobile device and ended up opening several pages you never meant to.  That frustration can cost you a potential client.
  2. Keep It Simple!  Google likes to work with a “Rule of 7” meaning that your navigation should be short and sweet.  Having visitors click through a series of windows or pages is going to have them lose interest, and fast.
  3. Contact, Contact, Contact!  Obviously, you want visitors to contact you – and on a mobile device what’s the obvious way people are contacting you?  By calling!  Make sure users can give you a ring with just the click of their thumbs.

Make sure you’re taking advantage of the “mobile craze” and staying on top of the competition.  Contact us today about your mobile website!
